I have tried to get involved in the community here in Northern Colorado as much as possible. One of the programs that I have gotten involved in is the Better Schools / Better Communities in association with the Greeley Chamber of Commerce.
Their main focus is to team up local schools in the District 6 school district with businesses and partners around the community with the idea to help the schools with whatever they need, be it mentorships, volunteers, or any project the school wants to tackle – we are there to help.
Today was my first taste of the meeting and the main kickoff for the group to gear up for the coming school year. The responsibility of the group is to act as a liaison between the schools and the businesses.
I am interested in getting involved in the community and especially if it has to do with the next generation. It seems like a great opportunity in the community and way to help out a little bit.
