Well, today marks the first official day of having a home office. Actually tomorrow will mark the first official day because I finally got everything moved in here tonight and kind of set up.
When I say kind of set up, what that means is that I put the desk together and that is about all that I did that will stay where it is. I am sure that Cami is going to come in here and rearrange everything that isn’t too heavy. She even told me to move the desk once, which is fine because it is better where it is. I have my printer, laptop and radio set up, but they are bound to change.
The plan with me bringing the desk home was two fold. The first and most pressing issue was because we moved out of our office down in Loveland. Our lease was up at the end of August and we had to go to plan "b" which was to move temporarily to an office in Loveland and then to Windsor in the middle of October. The plan fell through for the office in Windsor so we are staying out in the "new" office for us in Loveland. It is small and there was no way that I would have been able to set up this desk there and we needed another desk there so I took the old one from my house down there.
The second reason is because I want to work more out of the house here. I want to run all my workshops and marketing from here. I think that I will be more effective here then in Loveland. The reason being is that whenever I am down there, I tend to get sidetracked with other projects either from my own doings or from the request of my dad or clients that call in the middle of the day. We do not have a process that handle’s those circumstances very well, so I am going to do a lot of the marketing for the college funding workshops here. Plus, it is more what I am doing on my own to build my own practice aside from what we are doing in Loveland. Not that it is a conflict to what we are doing, but it is a different aspect that is what I am working towards.
